Notes: The MP34 utilizes old world manufacturing techniques that more resemble precision machinery than an open bolt submachine gun. Unlike those that would follow, manufactured in a way conducive to mass production utilizing as many wide spec parts as possible for broad spectrum uniformity, the MP34 is fitted, machined & finished w/ extremely tight tolerances. Weighing in at a hefty 10 lbs., it tames the 9mm cartridge in this particular offering like a kitten. Richly blued steel w/ a fine walnut stock, it looks more like an expensive collectible rifle than the purpose it was actually mfg. to provide. Details such as knurling of the sight adjustment & the micro serrations & circular grooves on other parts immediately display the quality of manufacturing. A vented bbl. shroud w/ a right side mounted bayonet is another unique trait of this classic SMG. The recoil buffering system is a rod that connects to the bolt & telescopes into the buttstock outwardly similar to the FN/FAL family of firearms. This is not a tube gun but a finely machined receiver w/ a circular interior. Exterior machining more resembles an octagon. Another unique trait is a hinged top cover to access the bolt & carrier in an accurate & rapid manner. Front sight is a protected permanent post. Rear tangent sight graduates from 50 to 500 meters in micro adjustments. These were select fire w/ the “E” (semi) & “F” (full) selector bar on the left side of the stock between the trigger & the receiver.
