Fine German silver blade front sight w/ fixed V notch rear sight. Top flat is stamped “SMITH & WESSON / NORWICH, CT. / PATENT” w/ “CAST STEEL” marking over “FEBUARY 14, 1854” date. Full length integral front loading mag. Iron action, hammer & back strap have vine type scroll hand engraving. 2 Piece rosewood bag type grips. Based on an 1854 patent issued to Horace Smith & Daniel B Wesson. Estimated 1,700 mfg. 1854-1855.
