This massive short sword w/ CS letters at opposite ends of guard has been highly reproduced due to its popularity. This example has impeccable surfaces & great original patina. The CS letters are so similar to those on known Leech & Rigdon products, it is fair to assume they made the sword & were among the largest deep South sword manufacturers. The orig. brown leather scabbard w/ sheet iron throat is scarce enough, but the attached letter frog w/ belt loops is almost never seen. If you want the finest example known w/ no peers, this is it.
