The Aircrewman was designed as a lightweight revolver for Air Force personnel w/ alloy frame & cyl. Due to ruptured cyls. the majority were destroyed in the late 1950’s. Examples in original condition are very scarce today. Bbl. 2″ w/ serrated ramp front sight. Left side of bbl. is stamped “AIRCREWMAN” above cal. marking. Backstrap is marked “PROPERTY OF U.S. AIR FORCE”. Butt of gun is marked “A.F. No. 1055”. 6 Shot fluted aluminum cyl. Aluminum frame has rampant colt marking on sideplate. 2 Piece checkered walnut grips w/ silver Air Force medallions. Back of left grip panel is marked “5”.
