Bbl. 24″ octagon. Original sporting bbl. sights w/ tang sight. Action has E grade factory engraving featuring a squirrel on right side w/ 2 cottontail rabbits on left sides. Scenes are surrounded by scroll engraving w/ fancy borders that extend to upper & lower receiver areas as well as breech end of bbl. Top of action has engraved inscription “Made For / Herbert W. Hegele MD / Portland / Oregon”. Forearm & pistol grip stock of gloss finished fancy Circassian walnut. Features include point pattern hand checkering, crescent steel buttplate & plain hard rubber grip cap. Mfg. 1911.
