EXTREMELY RARE DOCUMENTED COLT LONG FLUTE SHERIFF’S MODEL SAA REVOLVER

Bbl. 4″ w/o ejector. Six shot long flute cyl. Long flute cyls. remaining after the model 1878 double action was discontinued were altered for use in single action revolvers. The normal S# range for long flute use is 330,001 to 331,479. “A Study of the Colt Single Action Army Revolver” by Graham, Kopec & Moore lists 8 out of range known long flute revolvers on page 157-158. Among these is this revolver, no. 328915 listed as a 4″ Sheriff’s model, assembly completed April 27, 1915 & shipped April 28th, 1915. This revolver is also pictured on page 77 under the chapter pertaining to Sheriff’s Models. Blue & case colored finish. 2 piece checkered hard rubber rampant colt grips. Frame & grip straps have matching S#s. Sheriff’s model revolvers with long flute cyls. are practically unheard of.
