NEW YORK ENGRAVED COLT SAA REVOLVER

Bbl. 7 1/2″ w/ Hartford address. It was common practice for the large New York houses to receive revolvers with “soft” finishes for outside engraving to suit their customer’s tastes. The decoration on this revolver is indicative of use in Mexico or the western United States. This revolver has 50% coverage including the frame, bbl., grip straps & cyl. of vine type foliate scroll w/ punch dot backgrounds. Full nickel finish. 2 piece pearl grips w/ raised carved steer head on right panel. Black powder frame. Six shot fluted cyl. Frame & grip straps have matching numbers. Bbl. has non-matching number “1693”. Cyl. is unnumbered.
