LOT 4312A – COLT FACTORY ENGRAVED NEW SERVICE TARGET REVOLVER

Outstanding flat top target revolver originally sold in Portland, Maine to the consignors grandfather is fresh to the market. Factory style “C” coverage engraving. Engraving consists of scroll with punch dot backgrounds on fame sides, top, cyl. and breech end of bbl. Complementing highlights adorn the trigger guard and butt as well as front & rear frame areas. Bbl. 7 1/2″ with elevation adjustable bead front and windage adjustable U-notch target rear sights. Blue finish with fire blue trigger and fire blue hammer having polished sides. Hammer and grip straps are checkered. Checkered walnut 2 piece grips with rampant colt medallions.
UNATTACHED ACCESORIES: Colt letter signed by Beverly Jean Haynes, historian listing the following: “Serial Number ; 59517, Caliber: 45/c, Barrel Length: 7 1/2”, Finish: Blue, Type of stocks: Not Listed, Factory Engraved: See Remarks, Sold To; Harold White, Address: Unavailable, Shipped To: T. B. Davis Arms Company, Address: Portland, Maine, Date of Shipment: August 22, 1913, Guns in Shipment: 1, Remarks: Although the original shipping record for this revolver does not contain an “engraved” notation, the production record does indicate this was a factory engraved firearm.” A notarized letter traces the family ownership from the original owner to the consignee. The holster is factory made of flap style marked “708” on the back. The lightly marked name on the back appears to that of “Harold White:, the man the revolver was originally sold to.
