This intriguing blued steel mounted octagonal barrel Army revolver made without recoil shields is 14″ overall, 7 7/8″ octagonal barrel engraved to top flat: “COLT’S PATENT MANUFACTURED EXPRESSLY FOR MANTON & CO CALCUTTA”. Loading arm catch is unique spring that fits notched arm. Manton is among the most prestigious of 18th & 19th century English arms makers, still in business today. Revolver has scroll engraving on frame, trigger guard & backstrap. The cylinder is entirely covered in same scrolls. Beautiful presentation. Casing is glass topped with beveled glass, form fitted for screwdriver, caps, cleaning rod, and flask.
