Confederate 1864 Dated Cook & Brother Saddle Ring Carbine

This carbine has a standard configuration for an 1864 dated example.
It has a 21″ barrel with fixed sights made for a captive ramrod loading assembly now missing. Lock stamped “COOK & BROTHER” / “ATHENS GA” / “1864” and with a Confederate First National flag stamped behind the hammer, which is unique Cook & Brother feature.
Matching serial numbers “5693” are found on both barrel bands, lock screws, tang screw & nose cap. The serial number is not visible on the barrel due to pitting at breech.
Damascus twist barrel can be clearly discerned. All brass furniture, including saddle ring bar.
