Bbl. 13” over brake. One of 2 consecutively numbered 1928s in this auction. A fine example of the highly desirable Model 1928 Thompson. From the 6” 27 finned bbl. section to the 2 1/2” slotted muzzle brake it is immediately recognizable as “the gun that made the 20s roar”.
Complete w/ attractive hard wood horizontal foregrip, pistol grip & quick detachable shoulder stock, the 1928 is capable of utilizing both stick mags. & the drums often associated w/ them. Blued finish on all exposed metal surfaces. Top mounted, knurled & slotted cocking handle. Front sight blade integral to compensator. Rear folding peep / ladder sight for engaging multiple distances. Markings are as follows: left side receiver “US MODEL 1928 – NO. 1953A”. “THOMPSON SUBMACHINE GUN – CALIBER .45M1”. Top of receiver marked w/ familiar Thompson trademark bullet logo.
Right side receiver contains US patent block & “AUTO – ORDNANCE CORPORATION – WEST HURLEY, NEW YORK, U.S.A.”. MAGS: 30 rd. flat black Crosby Co. stick mag. marked “U.S. – 30 CARTRIDGE CAL 45”.
