LOT 4170A – CIVIL WAR COLT MODEL 1860 FLUTED ARMY REVOLVER AND HOLSTER

01-25836
Cal. 44
S# 2094

Colt’s new army revolver made to replace the dragoon and made concurrently in this serial range with the last dragoons in 1860. Many serial numbers in this range have factory records but we do not have one for this gun. Revolvers S# 2059 and 2213 were shipped to Georgia in December 1860. Over 2000 fluted armies were shipped South at the beginning of Civil War. Southern cash to Samuel Colt in the months leading up to the war spent just as well as Northern cash and Colt was a very good businessman. Standard configuration 4 screw frame made for shoulder stock & fluted cylinder. Initial “A” is scratched in butt.
