FINE EARLY NIMSCHKE ENGRAVED COLT SAA, ORIGINAL DOUBLE SIDE CARVED IVORY GRIPS

Profusely scroll engraved in the distinctive Nimschke style, nickel plated. This is among the finest “as found” complete and original survivors with the best fit and patinaed carved ivory grips. Left side has standard Mexican eagle with snake, the opposite grip is personalized with relief carved initials & horseshoe. Pictured on page 334 of the Colt Engraving Book, which states this revolver belonged to a sheriff. This Revolver in standard configuration, manufactured 1876, 7.5” barrel, bullseye ejector button, Hartford address with dashes. You won’t find a more honest early SAA showing honest use and wear, but well cared for.
