TWO REVERSE OIL ON GLASS WORKS BY THE STUDIO OF JEAN BAPTISTE LEPRINCE (French, 18th Century) BATHING AT THE WELL and THE SLEIGH RIDE

1) Three nude and partially nude maidens bathing with a figural water fountain which has flowing water out of a dolphin’s mouth deep in the woods. 2) A man in a colorful costume wearing ice skates pushing an elegantly dressed woman seated in an ornate swan-carved vozok. Both works are signed lower right “J.B. Leprince, 1779”. Each housed in a gold leaf carved frame with foliate decoration.

SIZE: each overall 20″ x 27″, each sight 17 1/2″ x 24 1/2″.
