Bbl. No. 3 weight 30″ octagon. Top flat is marked “RIFLED BY H. M. POPE”. Left flat is stamped “J. T. S.”. Bottom flat of bbl. is stamped “H” forward of the receiver followed by cal. marking under main spring. Forward of main spring, flat is marked “3” for bbl. weight followed by “527” w/ additional stamping “1/8” over “1.24”. Target front sight w/ circular aperture paired w/ an original H. M. Pope target tang sight having large disc aperture. Action features Schutzen style double set triggers. Blue finish w/ case colored hammer & letter. Ebony tipped schnable forearm. Straight grip plain walnut stock w/ nickel finished swiss buttplate. Stock under buttplate has handwritten marking “H. PRUCHA”. Mfg. 1898. PROVENANCE STATEMENT: From the Harold Prucha Collection”.
