The CSMC recreations of the iconic A. H. Fox gun are always special, with attractive wood and superb engraving. This example has 28″ barrels, fitted with slightly raised matted rib holding two white beads. Tops of barrels are engraved “MADE TO ORDER A.H. FOX” “KRUPP FLUID STEEL”. There are two inch triangles of open shaded scroll at breech ends, barrel flats are stamped with grade, S#, caliber info and Fox proof. Maker’s name and address are on loop. Small size Fox type boxlock action with rotary bolt features scalloped back, automatic safety and double triggers. Action is engraved with near full coverage nicely cut, shaded scrolling acanthus surrounding semi relief game scenes; with pair of flushing ruffed grouse on left side and pheasant on right. Bottom of action has fine Bulino portrait of two pointers. Trigger plate is engraved with matching scroll. Fences are engraved with semi relief scroll surrounding heads of snarling wolves. Top lever and trigger guard are engraved to match, S# is on trigger guard tang. Finely marbled red tone European walnut straight grip buttstock measures 14 1/2″ over brown leather covered pad. Side panels are checkered and classic “D” grade checkering with flourishes into butt are on semi diamond hand. Matching long schnabled ejector forend has inlet ebony tip and Deeley type release. Interior of iron is marked with ejector patents, S# and grade.

UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: gun is housed in a tan leather case with stitched leather corners. Interior is lined with burgundy cloth, and has A.H. Fox paper label in lid. Case contains good quality cleaning equipment, snap caps, square oil bottle and CSMC Fox catalog.
