This is a very attractive Boyle & Gamble, Richmond, VA staff sword with well defined “CS” and star pierced design in hilt with rarely seen “tobacco leaf” relief decoration in pommel cap. Blade shows manufacturing forging “flaw” where iron tang blacksmith welded to steel blade.
