Standard early production conehammer w/ 5.5″ bbl., fixed front sight & pinned 1-12 rear sight. Long extractor & independently secured firing pin. Top of chamber w/ usual 3 line address. Crown /”C”/”U”” on left side of bbl. extension; antler proof on right. Inspection markings under bbl. Matching S# on back of frame & on upon disassembly, on all usually numbered parts including the rear sight assembly & each of the grip panels. Dry grease precluded removal of the firing pin. British proofed w/ pressure test markings on bottom of bbl. & crown / “BNP” on left side of bbl. extension & left side of frame immediately over grip. Top of bbl. hand inscribed “SOLD BY JOHN RIGBY & CO. 72. ST JAMES ST LONDON” within faint scribe marks.
UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: complete w/ factory matching stock, the number appearing on the top portion of the hinge rather than the lug.
A superb & classic early conehammer, w/ matching stock, marked by one of the best known British retailers.
