FINE MERKEL 303 EL SIDELOCK EJECTOR DOUBLE TRIGGER O/U GAME SHOTGUN WITH CASE.

The 30″ demibloc bbls. fitted with matted rib have maker’s name on left ejector housing. Ejector housings are very nicely scroll engraved in semi relief. Matching 1″ triangles of scroll are at rear of top bbl. Bottom bbl. is stamped with East German Nitro proofs for 12 ga. with a proof date of 7/64. A sling loop is on yoke attached to side ribs which surrounds bottom bbl. Coin finished H&H type sidelock O/U action w/ dbl. Kirsten bolting system features nonautomatic safety, hand detachable locks, raised rib tumbler end cocking indicators, & dbl. triggers (front articulated). Action & locks are engraved w/ full coverage very nicely cut open shaded scroll within geometric borders. This fine engraving is accented by near full relief engraving of matching scroll & flowers on side bolsters. “Gebruder Merkel” is on arched ribbon on bottom of action. Steel trigger guard is engraved w/ matching scroll. Capped pistol grip buttstock of lightly marbled & nicely stump figured European walnut measures 15 1/8″ over checkered wood buttplate. Stock features shadowline right hand cheekpiece & chin strap transition to grip which has point pattern checkering. Matching vented three piece field forend has Deeley release.
