7 CIVIL WAR PERIOD CONFEDERATE CENTRAL GOVERNMENT BUTTONS

All of these buttons were produced in England under contract to the Confederate Government. Generally, they were imported from England by blockade runners to Southern ports of entry & subsequently utilized throughout the Confederacy.
1) ENGINEER. A fine example of a Confederate Engineer coat button commonly known as a stippled, Old English “E”. Albert # CS-153-A. Face depicts a single letter “E” in Old English style. The reverse is marked, “H T & B * MANCHESTER * ”. Full straight shank.
2) RIFLEMAN. A fine example of a Confederate Rifleman coat button commonly known as a stippled, block “R”. Albert # CS-201-A. Face depicts a single letter “R” in a block style. The reverse is marked, “H T & B * MANCHESTER * ”. Full straight shank.
3) ARTILLERY. A fine example of a Confederate Artillery coat button commonly known as a stippled, block “A”. Albert # CS-101-A. Face depicts a single letter “A” in a block style. The reverse is marked, “H T & B * MANCHESTER * ”. Full straight shank.
4) INFANTRY. A nice example of a Confederate Infantry coat button commonly known as a stippled, block “I”. Albert # CS-171-A. Face depicts a single letter “I” in a block style. The reverse is marked, “H T & B * MANCHESTER * ”. Full straight shank.
5) CAVALRY. A fine example of a Confederate Cavalry coat button commonly known as a stippled, block “C”. Albert # CS-126-A. Face depicts a single letter “C” in a block style. The reverse is marked, “H T & B * MANCHESTER * ”. Full straight shank.
6) INFANTRY. A nice example of a Confederate Infantry coat button commonly known as a manuscript “I”. Albert # CS-175-A-1. Face depicts a single letter “I” in a manuscript style. The reverse is marked, “HALFMAN & TAYLOR . MONTGOMERY . ALABAMD”. Full straight shank.
7) GENERAL SERVICE. A nice example of a Confederate General Service coat button commonly known as a lined “CSA”. Albert # CS-81-B. Face depicts the letters “C.S.A” in a block style. The reverse is marked, “SUPERIOR QUALITY . ”. Full straight shank.
