The 26 1/2″ chopperlump bbls. are gold inlaid “FOR 2″ CARTRIDGES ONLY” on flat matted game rib. Top of right bbl. is engraved “Griffin & Howe – New York”. Bbl. flats are stamped w/ 1999 Spanish nitro proofs for 2″ chambers. Choke markings on bbls. are for IC & MOD. Case hardened Boss style rnd. bodied sidelock action features automatic safety (“SAFE” inlaid in gold), bushed strikers, Purdey type gas vents, engraved line tumbler end cocking indicators, quick removal lockplate pin & dbl. triggers (front articulated). Action & lockplates are engraved w/ near full coverage well cut classic English scroll w/ rose bouqet highlights. Bottom of action is gold inlaid “GRIFFIN & HOWE” “NEW YORK”. Right hand single beaded trigger guard is engraved w/ matching scroll, serial number is on tang. Straight grip buttstock of very nicely marbled & fiddle figured European walnut measures 14 3/8″ over dark brown leather covered pad. Flat top point pattern checkering is at grip. Matching splinter ejector forend has Anson release.
