Bbl. 30″ of nickel steel w/ added matting. Choke marking is “MOD”, bbl. constriction is .010″. Custom Pre War Pigeon grade engraving by famed engraver Nick Kusmit, who worked for Winchester 1950-1981. Nick continued to engrave Winchesters until his passing in 2010. The Pre War engraving is more elaborate than the later No. 5 pattern. Engraving features an upland scene w/ 2 pointing dogs & 2 partridge on right side & marsh scene w/ 4 flying mallards on left. Scenes are surrounded by fancy borders & vine type foliate scroll w/ stippled backgrounds. Matching engraving continues to top & bottom areas of receiver w/ banner on trigger guard bow. Engraver’s signature “NK” is found in right side scene. Sm. rnd. forearm of fancy walnut w/ Pigeon grade wrap around checkering. Straight grip stock of fancy walnut w/ black diamond inlays at wrist & wrap around Pigeon grade checkering.
LOP: 13 3/4″ over a 1 1/2″ solid red London style pad.
