First model 1905 shipped in 1905 after much development work. This pistol became the first to use the 45 ACP cartridge. Basic design is a double link parallelogram locking system similar to previous pistols. Slide was held on by a wedge inserted into the front of the slide & locked in by a spring plunger. The one drawback was that the wedge could be installed incorrectly, creating a safety condition. Last production was in 1917. S# ended at # 6210.
