WINCHESTER 1894 DELUXE EXTRA LIGHT TAKEDOWN LEVER ACTION RIFLE

Bbl. 26″ tapered octagon to round. Top of bbl. has rare full length matting. Ramp mounted sporting front sight w/ elevator adj. sporting rear sight. Half-length takedown mag. Blue finish w/ case colored hammer & lever. Forearm & hard rubber capped pistol grip stock of fancy walnut w/ style H factory checkering. Nickel finished crescent steel buttplate. Left inside of lower tang is stamped w/ assembly no. 3403 followed by XXX wood grade marking. Butt of stock under buttplate is stamped 94/T/6416 over an indistinct pencil marked name. Inside toe of buttplate is stamped 6416, matching the stock. Top tang channel of stock is scraped, possibly to remove an assembly no.
UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: letter from the Cody Firearms Museum detailing the following information, “Type: Rifle / Caliber: 25/35 / Barrel Type: 1/2 Octagon / Extra Light / Trigger: Plain / Checkered stock, Pistol grip / Sights: Sporting front and rear / 1/2 Magazine / Takedown / Matted / Received in warehouse on August 17, 1899 / Shipped from warehouse on August 14, 1899, Order number 32610 (dates as per record)”.
