ONE OF A KIND ROY ROGERS 10 GUN COMMEMORATIVE SET

This unique grouping includes limited editions by Mossberg & Winchester as well as prototype Ruger SA revolver editions sponsored by Limited Editions Sales of Erie, PA. Ron Mahovsky was a custom gunsmith for Metalife Industries and a member of the Outstanding American Handgunner Awards Foundation, Inc. During the 11th annual meeting in 1983, this organization recognized the top 10 candidates in the USA for their handgunning achievements. Roy Rogers was one of the top 10 candidates. Ron was selected by the foundation to build a customized handgun to be presented to Roy. Later, Ron traveled to the Roy Rogers Museum in Victorville, CA, to make the presentation. There, he collaborated with Roy to design a customized limited-edition series of Roy Rogers handguns using Ruger revolvers. The Mossberg Company was already producing a Roy Rogers lever-action rifle. The series was to be limited to 5000 out of four models. Later, additional models, limited to 75 each, were added. Only a few hundred of the first four additions were sold; the 75-gun series was sold out. All sales were through the Roy Rogers Museum in Victorville, CA, managed by his son, Dusty Rogers. Each handgun was accompanied by a letter of authenticity and a 45 RPM record. This group contains prototypes of the Roy Rogers Ruger limited edition revolvers.
